When You Have a Vision That Something is Going to Happen
Meena Asks:
Hi Lucid,
I have had a few experiences with things that I saw and wished I hadn’t! I use to live on Long Island, which is in NY. Every Saturday my brother in law, and some friends and my sisters or sister would go to what was know as Islip Speedway. It was a race track and they did demolition derby’s, figure 8’s and of course they did laps around the track.
We all loved going every week, it was exciting and ohhh so noisy! Well, this one night they were doing practice laps… they were having midget cars that evening. We used to go early so we could look around and get good seats.
As they were speeding around I visualized seeing something and I was so upset I didn’t know what to do about it? I saw the cars running around and at the 3rd turn going towards the finish line there was a horrible accident!
Five minutes later, some how the little car ended on his back wheels and bounced like a ball and it bounced so high it did a complete tumble and flew over the fence crashing into a 21 year old young man. The whole place was horrified!
When you see something like that what are you supposed to do? I was hysterical, I felt helpless. What good was it to see that and not be able to do anything about it?
Thank you for the chance to be able to write in to you, I never really had anyone to talk to about these type of things. I thought maybe I was nuts at first. I have seen other things but not for a long time now.
I can see you put a lot of time and effort into the answers you give back. I hope your site becomes a big success! I will leave a “Tip” for you hopefully others are as well.
Sincerely,
Meena
Lucid’s Thoughts:
Hi Meena, thanks for sharing your experience with us. You have two questions in here for me. Let me start with the second one first.
What good is it to see an event if your not able to do anything about it? Just because we are shown a premonition does not always mean it was meant to be stopped. This can be a hard concept to accept. We figure since we are being shown a vision or thought, it is our place or responsibility to stop it, and when we don’t/can’t we feel guilty/bad.
It is normal to have sadness, or a feeling of being helpless when something bad or tragic takes place that could not be avoided/stopped. It is the humane-sympathetic part of us that wants the world and the people in it, to feel no pain or suffering.
Your second question: what are you suppose to do if you see something, or sense something is about to happen? The answer is, it depends on the individual situation. It is unlikely that you will know in advance whether the event can be stopped, but if you have the opportunity to mention it or take action safely, then attempt it. I say safely, because not everyone is prepared, or ready to accept the fact that something bad may happen.
Often times people are ridiculed for knowing such things in advanced. They may even think you had a part in the planning of such an event.
Example: You are at a supermarket, and you envision a jar fall from the top shelf, which slams a lady in her head. You try to tell her what you saw, and that she should move. When she doesn’t, and the jar hits her, she may believe you put in at the edge of the shelf as a gag.
My best advice would be to use caution, and listen to your gut; it is usually correct.
P.S. Thank you in advance for your Tip

I can relate on some level. When I do a reading for someone and I see something that is not good or benefical to my client I have a hard time relaying that message. You don’t want to tell someone something that may make them worry or feel bad, but that is why at the beginning of every reading I ask if they understand that anything can come through and if they are willing to accept that. If they don’t verbally agree I do not continue. It is a heavy responsiblity.

Now that would scare me to death. How horrible. Did the man die? I know you felt bad about not being able to do anything but it all happened so fast I doubt there was anything you could have done differently. I hope you weren’t too hard on yourself.

Hi Andrew,
Yes it is a responsibility and a respected one at that. There have been times where I was in a tuff corner. I think it is also in the approach and the way in which you relay the message. It is good that you give them a heads uo so that they are not shocked if something does come in.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Good advice Cheri - Sometimes it all happens so fast there is no time to do anything. I agree, feeling bad about it, or taking on the feeling of being responsible because you were clued in will do you no good. Actually an experience like this can actually shut down or block any future psychic energies.
