After your post I started thinking about the messages I’ve had and I remembered a few, one in particular, being more than one word.

Some were one word. i.e. once a grieving widow was talking to me and the strong message of a month came to mind. Turned out to be the month of her anniversary that I did not previously know…I barely knew her.

Once I went to an event advertised as a “healing” event. I felt very uncomfortable with what the man was claiming and saying. I heard the words “You don’t belong here. This isn’t for you.” He was trancing the audience into a “healing” visualization but as he was talking I saw and felt bad things.

These are just a few. I don’t receive messages as distinct voices of an “other,” as you described. They’re either intuitions or messages that appear in my mind. Hard to describe.

As you know messages come in all forms, and at random or very pinpointed times.

Some of the most popular mediums are:
Channeling
Visions
Dreams
Intuitive Feelings
Clairaudience (the ability to hear)
Trance Mediums
Psychics
Tarot Cards
Crystal Balls
Etc.

It all depends on where your receptive areas are developed, and how that Spirit/Energy relays its message. Usually when people receive information like you did, there is a feeling of just “knowing” the information, and the message could be in your own voice.
 
When this happens, the message is usually received through the Crown Chakra. I always try and feel this kind of message out. This is my way of staying in check with myself.

These powerful messages tend to be the gentlest on the body. And for me, this kind of information comes in the most accurate. Some other methods, like the intuitive feelings,  come in through the Solar Plexus, and are hard on me physically because they come in with too much energy, and it causes a feeling of anxiety.

I think you had a combination with the first message. You had a brief moment of Clairaudience, and then some information was channeled. This message probably came from the woman herself.

The second message was also a mix of Clairaudience and intuitive feelings. This information sounds like it came directly from your guides/angels/higher self.
