According to the Webster’s New Dictionary and Thesaurus the meaning of meditation is; deep thought; serious continuous contemplation esp. on a religious or spiritual theme.

Since we, as a society, are looking for peace and a sense of balance in our lives; I believe having some level of meditation in your life can be beneficial. We are so stressed that we are making our mind, body and soul sick with disease.

Anxiety is just one example of how stress can develop into an unwanted illness. We try and deal or cure ourselves with medications. Antidepressants and tranquilizers are just some of the drugs being used to help us cope with the problems we face on a daily basis. Some people can’t get out of bed in the morning unless they pop a pill. They can not face the world without the help of these chemicals. This is a big warning sign that something is definitely wrong with us as a society; as the human race.

There is an on going battle between drug, alcohol and food addictions. Unfortunately, their illnesses are being comforted through artificial means. We can not continue down this road. Medications only work for so long, and most addictions put us in the grave prematurely.

Some of the discomforts we experience in life can be consoled if we reach out to find a more natural method of healing. Mediation is one step in the right direction.

When you meditate you will feel more energetic and healthy. It brings a deeper connection and understanding of oneself. Having peace between the mind, body and soul definitely will give you the strength you need to stand strong. Having a profound understanding of yourself permits you to be in control over your life. You will know how to read your thoughts and feelings with lucidity, thus allowing yourself to make the correct decisions that would best fit your needs.

Meditation does not have to be such a serious subject. It can be done almost anywhere. You don’t have to be a master at meditation in order to practice it on a simple level and benefit from it just as well. When people think of the word meditation, they get all confused and tired before they even try it. Why? Because  they  figure the only way to do it, is to wrap their body up in some weird twisted pretzel and chant monotonous phrases that make no sense to them; this is not necessarily true.

Spiritual Suggestion:

A meditative state of mind can be achieved more easily then you may think. I suggest keeping things simple, especially in the beginning. Only positive things can come from reaching in and pulling out your true self.

What we project into the universe is what we get back. We put out love because we want and need love. It makes us feel good; it energizes the body and massages the soul. True happiness can only be found after we figure out what is it that truly makes us happy. One way to do this is to do a little soul searching.

While on your journey, meditation is a good technique to practice.
