How Do You Deal With Feeling Blue?
Cheri Asks:
How do you deal with those days when you are feeling blue?
Lucid’s Thoughts:
I personally take it as it comes. How I deal with the situation usually depends on what is causing it.
If it is an emotional problem, I try and ride it out….Ex… Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS). The highs and lows of the hormone levels can drive any women up a wall, so I will try not to give my emotional roller coaster too much attention. I try not to analyze my feelings at this time, because most likely they will not make sense or change within a minute. (It is not worth the aggravation)
If it is something financial like bills…… I just throw them in the shredder and pretend like they never came lol just kidding, I try to prioritize and take them on, one by one, as I can…… (The hair cut and pedicure are a must. Oh and of course my coffee on my way to work every morning JK…. I haven’t cut my hair in over 6 months and a pedicure???? What is that???)
Hint:
We have to live life for the day, that is all we really can do. There are several ways to break a bad mood. You could watch or read something that has comedy in it. You can get out of the house and go for a short brisk walk. A cup of tea, a bite of chocolate, a little romance…..
Try taking a hot bath or shower…. Sometimes your mood may be effected by the lack of sleep, so a nap might be in order…. Heck you may want to just fall asleep for the rest of the day!!!!! Which ever suits your needs go for it.
* Of course this is if your case of the blues are mild, infrequent and not medical depression

I can vouch for the fact that laughing yourself out of a bad mood can and does work! Even just a smile can sometimes pull you out of the dumps.

Thanks for answering my question. I like to go walking in the park that is near by. I like to take the time out for myself and just be with nature.

I like to listen to classical music, or music without words when I am feeling down.

Laughing is the BEST therapy. I do have to admit, it is hard for me to laugh when I am pissed off though.
