My thought process here is: I believe it is possible to have someone that you are really close with stop by before going. Why he did not, I can not say. There could be a million reasons. If he passed away suddenly he may have had to adapt to the passing in general.

Once we cross over to the other side, it becomes a whole other ball game. Their first motion is not always to turn around and give a good bye to those who are left behind. It would be nice, however sometimes they don‘t have control over what or how it happens.

As for the dream, are you sure there isn’t some underlining reason for waking up just as you are about to go off with him somewhere?

Whether he has been reborn or not…. You may want to seek out a psychic that specializes in that field, unfortunately I do not, so I won’t even try.
