Do Their Shoes Fit?
Listed below are some harsh examples of how we treat each other. These are just some of the hurtful comments that are said, under our breath, everyday. We assume our perception of someone is always correct; how wrong are we?
God that man smells, doesn’t he know how to shower? {Gross}
Has anyone stopped to think that maybe the man with the body odor is a little ripe because he has been spending his time, day in and day out at the hospital. His two year old baby girl is in ICU. She was hit by a car, and does not want to miss a moment with her, so he spends every free second at the hospital.
Look at her, how can she have a smile on her face, all day, everyday? {Please-someone, she must be on drugs} When someone is happy and they are right with themselves and God/Higher Power, they should never stop smiling. It is the ones who crave true happiness that comment negatively. It is the envy, of wanting what the smiling lady has, that causes us to react this way.
Wow, she just has the life; a husband, two perfect kids, and a beautiful house. {I wish my life was like hers} Has anyone been a fly on the wall, when the lady with the perfect life, gets her nightly beating? Is anyone aware of how many sexual affairs her husband has had, and the sexually transmitted disease he gave her as a Christmas gift last year? Has anyone asked the kids what their version of hide and seek is? (The game is hide and I hope dad does not seek).
He shows no emotion, what am I dating a cinder block? {Or, maybe Stone Cold Steve Austin?} A man is usually told not to be emotional like a girl. This is societys way of portraying strength. Through out the years of dad and his brothers teasing, it has made him shut off all together. He is not stone cold, he is just emotionally asleep.
Ask Lucid:
I know most of you have heard the saying, You don’t know me, and you have not walked a day in my shoes, nor would you want to. We don’t always know what goes on behind the curtain so try not to jump to assumptions. Put a little compassion, patience and understand in your life, thoughts, and feelings. You never know, one day, you may find yourself in one of their shoes!

Lucid,
Thank-you for providing such powerful thoughts. We all can express more understanding and compassion and remember that how we preceive others is often through our very limited lens, which is only a reflection of our current life.

I applaud you for writing about this, Lucid! Sometimes I want to put reminders on billboards so people will be more aware of others’ situations!

Hello Mark! You are sooo right. We look at the world and the people in it with such a narrow lens. What does that say for us as a whole???
I am glad there are specail blogs that focus on making this world a better place!!!
Thank you for your added thoughts, it is valued!

Hi Sophia, billboards would definitely send out a loud message
I share your feelings.
You know something as simple as standing on line at the store and hearing the people behind me bickering about the lady holding up the line is enough to drive me nuts. People are just so impatient…. it is sad.
Thanks for your thoughts and have a great day!!!!

I will tell you this. Thank God as of now I do not have to walk in their shoes, and not to offend anyone, I hope I never do have to!
