Vicky Asks:
I don’t know if you could answer this…but I wonder, do pets (animals) go to heaven when they die? I find myself getting so upset over the thousands of animals euthanized every day. Mostly for no good reason. Do you think they get “taken care of?”

Lucid’s Thoughts:
What a good question! Of course our animals here on earth go back to God; he was the one who created them. Their spirit is pure, and have no sins to account for. Let’s put it this way, they have a one way ticket home, and that is in heaven with God/Higher Power. They did nothing wrong, it is mostly due to our carelessness.

I know it is heart breaking that so many animals lose their lives to over population of shelters and illness. I adopted my dog from a shelter three years ago. He is the love of my life, and I could not imagine anything happening to him! He gets treated with such respect. He thinks he is one of us. As you can see in his picture, he lays his head on his pillow like a human.

There isn’t really anything one can do except take more responsibility for the pets/animals that are out there. For instance, it should be a mandatory policy to neuter stray or unwanted animals. Also, one should take the responsibility to do a thorough investigation on the kind of pet/animal you are thinking about getting. This will elevate some of the  surprise in a situation if it comes up unexpectedly.

Animals may be cute and cuddly, but they are also a responsibility and constantly need care. It is a commitment that must be seen through to the end.

Thank you for your thoughts, I agree with your concern!
