Play Date With the Dolphins
I was sitting at the beach. My feet were covered in sand. No one was there, just me and the little sea crabs that were crawling around. Night was apparent as the darkness crept upon. Soon the only light that shown was the luminous moon reflecting off the ocean waters.
.
It was so peaceful. The waves were calm as they splashed upon the shore. They messaged my feet. It felt like hands touching my skin.
It seemed like the moon was a spot light shinning down on me, it was as if the heavens were watching me from above.
The warm breeze played with my hair as I watched the dolphins coming in from the deep sea. It looked like they were dancing. Every move was in sync with each other.
I wanted to be like them, I wanted to be able to swim in the vast, warm, gentle waters of the ocean…. I wanted to be free!
There were two dolphins that came close to the shore. I was so happy to see them. They looked at me and encouraged me to join them. I was nervous at first, but then released all of my inhabitations. I ran into the water and began to swim towards them. I could not get there fast enough.
They greeted me by standing tall with their tales embedded in the water. I grabbed a hold of one of their fins and we swam.
We were going so fast. We were on top of the water, we went under the water, they even took me up out of the water as they jumped. The love and freedom I felt was amazing. I wanted to be with them forever.
My play date with the dolphins came to an end. Unfortunately my kids came home and I snapped out of the meditation before I wanted to, but I was glad to see them so…..The good thing is, I can always go back if I want to!

I agree that this reflection is incredibly uplifting. It reminds me a bit of the New Zealand movie called “Whalerider” and stories about people who discover the power of their dolphin totems.

Hi Lucid,
There’s nothing like the freedom of the water. I have always loved dolphins since seeing Flipper. They represent so much love and playfulness.
May the dolphins always be with you.

Hi Lucid,
I was reading about your meditation on your dolphins and it made me think of an experience I had when I was a young woman, and on my first vacation without parents.
I love animals….. I have always had a fondness for Dolphins. When I was 18 years old I went on vacation with my sister and some friends to a place called Bating Hollow on Long Island, NY.
My friend and I were out on a row boat and it was extremely foggy out around 7 am…… (We decided to take the boat out, then the fog rolled in!) It was so scary because we were out further than we needed to be and the people on land looked like so tiny. All of a sudden we saw a fin come out of the water….. and we thought like most people would that it was a shark! But they came right up to the boat and we could see that they were dolphins! They have the sweetest faces and always look like they are smiling at you. They stuck around for a while then we started to go back to land. I think they were guiding us there.
What a neat experience that was… and I’ll never forget the experience we had that day! It was awesome.

Hello Loving Annie!!! Do’in pretty good as a matter of fact!!!
It is funny, though I am not an extreme dolphin lover, I do see them alot in my mediations! I think they are a peacefully spiritual animal. I saw a show the other day about birthing in a very large tank while the dolphins are there with them; it was interesting. I don’t think I could go that far but….
Have a wonderful day!!!

Hi Liara!!!
Good evening! I have not had the opportunity to see that show??… Sounds interesting though!
Thanks for your additions! Have a great night!

Hello Alexys!
I like that… May the dolphins be with me
… That was cute. I like to be in only warm water. I hate pools because they are usually cold until you numb up to them lol… But I have had the chance to go in a heated one and it was very lovely!!!!
Be Well!!!

Wow Lucid,
You had me going for a while, I thought it was the retelling of an adventure in the physical realm. Do you know, there are many places out here where you can swim with the dolphins, literally? I’ve always wanted to try that. You’re meditation has inspired me.

Hello Grace good morning!
Thank you for the link, I will check it out. My girlfriend was a big dolphin fan! Her bathroom, bedroom, and parts of her living room were decorated in the dolhin theme. She was soooo attached to them. When she would watch them on TV she her eyes would fill up with tears! (So I understand
)
Have a nice weekend!

Hello Writer Chick, how are you!
Ahhhh yes, I know there are some places…. It must be AWESOME! I think I would be alil nervous at first, just because I never did something like that before…. I live in-land and don’t know of any places here off the top of my head, but I guess this may be something to look into! Hmmmmm
Wishing you a great weekend!

Thanks Lucid. I was sitting in work and really tired and worrying about all the things in my life I have to accomplish today. I stopped and read your story and then realizing it was a meditation, as I was sitting here (at work, don’t tell anyone) I was walking into the ocean myself. Relaxing and realizing that I am only one person, and I can only do so much. The hurryier I go the faster I get behind. So that being said your image made me realize their are more important things in life and I will get done today what is supposed to get done! Enjoy and relaxing is also a big part of life too. If I get too exhausted how can I take care of anyone else if I have not taken care of me too. Thanks for sharing love reading your outlook on things.

You had me going!
I almost went swimming with the dolphins when we went to Mexico in 2005. It was part of our plans. But when we got there, we saw the small pens the dolphins were kept in and we felt sorry for them, so we didn’t give any money to the company that gave the guided swims.
By the way, did you know that an Orca is a type of dolphin? Just some useless knowledge for you today.

Beautiful imagery! I was there with you, absorbing all the peaceful, playful, liberating, dolphiny energy and vibes. May you always ride the waves of life with the spirit of the dolphin by your side, MW

Hello Joyce!!!
I like the way you mentioned how if you go to fast, you actually end up falling behind. This holds true to so many of us. We seem to be on this path of “fast pace” . . . the only problem here is that we are in a rush to get no where. The other thing I would like to point out is how relaxing can be infact diffucult and stressful believe it or not. It can be a challenge to find the time to actually step by out of the rat race, to release and let go. I think more f us should just let down the rope we hold during this tug of war, and just be!
Thank you for your input and have a great day!!!

Hello Sophia, how are you doing????
I know it is so sad that they are in captivity, even when I visit the zoo I have mixed feelings. I love that I can see them in person(animals in general), but at the same time they look distant.
(((sigh sigh))) It is what it is, at least you made the choice not support a cause that made you uncomfortable!!!
Wishing you a super day!!!

Mother Winter Moon . . . That was beautiful!!!!
What can I say other then…. I wish the same life line to you!!!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!!
