Childhood Embarrassments
This little story maybe out of character for me, for this blog, or …maybe not. I am sure each and every one of you who reads this will be able to relate on some level.
Childhood is a special time in ones’ life. For me it was terrific, minus a few embarrassing, to die for moments. And, it is these moments that stick with you to the end.
I am going to share with you an event that took place when I was in the seventh grade.
I was a bit of a Tom boy. I loved to play softball, kickball, street tag football, oh and climbing trees was a favorite past time. I had mostly male friends. The only girls I hung around were my best friend, and cousins.
That being said, my Social Studies class was made up of mostly boys. It was a new school, and I didn’t really know anyone in that class. I hated History, and I sat in the front row by myself. (Not by choice, we were in alphabetical order.) Every second of that class seemed to pass by in reverse.
I tried to kick up a conversation with the boys who sat behind me a few times, but I was too shy.
One day I heard them laughing and playing around. I wanted in so bad on the convo, I even started ease dropping. Their conversation went like this.
Boy #1: I have a Pistol
Boy #2: So, I have a Machine Gun.
Boy #3: Yeah well, I have a Bazooka!
Their guns kept getting bigger and bigger. I felt at that point it was my turn to chime in. I thought I was dam funny, so I turned around and looked at them straight in the face and said, “How about this… I have a cannon!”
Oh My God… Boy # 3 looked at me with a twisted confused face and said, “You have a Penis????????!!!!!!!!!”
I quickly turned back around and faced the black board. Frozen with embarrassment, I just wanted to melt away! They were laughing so loudly at me
….. My hopes of ever being friends just sank to the bottom of the ocean, and now they were questioning if I was a boy/girl! (Geezzzz)
As you can see this embarrassment still has not been forgotten. It is funny how certain things stay with us through out our life time! Have a great Holiday weekend!

Hi Cassie,
Do we noticed a common factor here… lol boys…. They seem to be so harsh at that age. That’s ok, we are strong, and we did pull through it right
Have a great Holiday!

Hello Angie,
…. That’s ok, all these things are what builds our character.
A natural act of nature becomes such focus of attention lol
I will tell you this, after 19 years with my husband and I still don’t feel comfortable with the “gas” issue.
Have a wonderful Holiday!

Welp Lucid, I don’t think you have a penis after all being that you had 3 kids and all…. lmao….
Childhood is such a tuff time in so many different ways! It is amazing how we get through them really!
Happy holiday to you!

Hello Cheri!
Yup… It took a few years to figure out a wasn’t a boy, but I did… I wanted to be in on the boys club so bad I could taste it, and then when I hit my early teens, I started liking them in a different way and it was all over. I was then glad I was not a boy
Have a wonderful Holiday!

Lucid,
That’s a funny story. No need to carry it with you anymore. As embarrassing as it may have been, it’s over now. I am just surprised that he referred to it as a cannon — at that age. LOL.
Have a great week.

Good afternoon Alexys!
Lol it was me that she I had a canon, not one of the boys. They said pistol, machine gun & then a bazooka- It was at that point that I added in mine which was the biggest of them all, only I did not realize they were talking about their male members…
I have let it go
I can actually laugh about it now…. Wishing you a safe holiday!

Lucid,
Great story! You and I would probably have been friends. I was a bit of a tomboy myself. Even though I hung out with a neighborhood boy most of the time, I can also remember how mean the boys could be in school!

HI Sophia! Good Evening!

We probably could have been friends

Hi Lucid,
Duh. Your post was very clear, I was just enjoying the visual of the little boys faces when you so cleverly said that brilliant line. I wrote the wrong thing, Oops. Sorry about that.
I was actually going to say what Annie said, but I was distracted with laughter. Anyway, just know that I think you’re great and your childhood probably has empowered you.

Hey there… I am feeling a touch out numbered here. Boys will be boys, isn’t that what they will say, I should know. You know all the rough housing, sports, games, and jokes are just our building blocks for being well- WCW Wreslters, Sports Fanatics, Proball players or Gamblers, and last but not least and I can admit it, most of the jokes are on us lol
See what good came out of that situation Lucid, you had a great funny lttle story to share with the world!

Ah ha Alexys…. You are so right….m y childhood was one of the best. I mean I had a few bumps and bruises like most but…. I wish my dad was more of a participant in my earlier years {{{sigh}}} He kept to himself through out most of his life. He was a good father just inverted, and it wasn’t until years later when I found out why… He died at the early age of 48 from Luekemia….
I am glad you enjoyed this story…
Talk to you soon!

Hi Randy!!!
And actually that just reminded me of a Christmas story but I think September is alittle too early to tell it so… Hopefully I remember to write about it at x-mas time!
Yup I do have a story to tell the world and my grand kids when I have them lol… It is not really one of those heart warming stories you would tell by the fire place at christmas time but…..
Good to hear from you!
