As I Strolled…
Meditation:
While listening to the American Indian drum rolling, I found myself in the middle of the forest. There were many trees standing almost as tall as the sky, others were broken. Their trunks had been hollowed out by the animals who made them their homes.
There were big green and small yellow-brown leaves that blanketed the ground. They were layered in a beautiful pattern. It was quite shaded. All the tree limbs seem to inter-lock with each other, as if to shield and protect. Because the forest was so dense, the sun had to squeeze its rays through any crack it could find. But it was nice not having the sun blaring directly in my eyes.
As I walked down a narrow dirt path, I could smell the earth beneath my feet. I could also smell all the different kinds of woods combined into one, like a bowl of potpourri; It was very pleasant.
I looked as I walked down the path to see if I could see any animals, but I did not. I heard the sound of running water in the distance. I wanted to see where it was coming from, so I veered off the path, and followed the sound which directed me to the water.
I could see up ahead a small stream trickling. The suns’ light reflected off the water. It kept flashing. It was as if, it was calling out to me. It seemed it was trying to get my attention.
I went over to it, and put my hand in the water. It was cool and refreshing. The water was very clear. I could see through to the little pebbles that lye beneath.
I sat there quietly for a few minutes just spreading my fingers so that the water could flow in-between them. It was very peaceful there, no cars, airplanes, sirens, or people. I happen to turn my head to the right and saw a small deer approaching the water. She approached with caution to drink. Her fur was a warm brown and the tail was as white as snow.
I moved over to greet the deer, and give it a little touch/pet. It’s big, beautiful, almost black eyes, told me that she had trust.
As I placed my hand on her, I, myself, turned into a deer. I rubbed my head gently against hers, and then we both began to walk back into the forest.
After that I came out of the mediation session feeling enlightened and peaceful. I had a reassuring feeling of connectivity to the animal kingdom; it was nice!

Animal totems can indeed feel reassuring and also teach us about ourselves. Thanks for this uplifting reflection. It is so picturesque, my imagination enables me to float into the canvas and experience levels of nature for myself.

What an amazing meditation! Thanks for checking on me. I am feeling much better now, and am trying to stick closely to a healthier diet than before. This may be out of left field, but I had an odd dream recently that my beloved dog became human. I have felt strangely even more bonded to her since then.
Bon Amie

Lucid,
You were always “dear” to my heart. That’s a beautiful meditation. I think even if we do trust ourselves, there are always instances when we are not so sure.
I am glad that you could reconnect with yourself and all the Souls in God’s kingdom.

Good Saturday evening Lucid !
What a lovely meditation ! I liked the visual of you also turning into a deer and rubbing the other one. That was a peaceful connection that definitely would feel enlightened … Doesn’t life bring so many wonderful things in it when we are open and listening ?

Such lovely meditation visions! I especially like your transformation into the deer. It’s as if you had a shamanic journey.
I recall once having a meditation vision that involved a deer. They’re very peaceful and gentle creatures, so I know how envisioning them can bring calmness to one’s soul.

Evening Bon Ami!
I am glad to hear you are feeling better!!! I love my pet, and forget that he is a “dog”. Not that I treat him quite as a human, but I definitaley have respect for the animal kingdom. Talking about dreams of your dog, I had a really bad one the other night. I woke up very upset. Someone in my neighborhood had cut my dog’s tongue out
. . . I woke up upset…. In my dream I was going up and down the street yelling at all my neighbors.

Hello Alexys, how was your weekend?
That was a nice comment you left! This may sound stupid, but I don’t like killing bugs. I will avoid it if I can, however there are times when I am left with no choice. I actually say, “Please forgive me!”, before I smash the little stinker…. lol
Hope you rested well!!!

Good Sunday evening back to you Loving Annie!
If this isn’t a true statement/question …” Doesn’t life bring so many wonderful things in it when we are open and listening ?” I am thankful for everything I experience in life, even the negative/bad.(lol, maybe not right away, but eventually on the bad things
) I can’t imagine what it would be like to live life only looking forward, and not the the sides, and behind….
Have a great night!
