Though our imaginations are vivid, I don’t believe yours is the cause of this :) . Angels use many different avenues to deliver their messages, and signs that draw our attention are only one of them.

How you feel or respond to those feathers is more important then where or who is delivering them. You said you tend to notice them when you need a pinch of strength right, so I would have to say it is a reminder to you that you are stronger then maybe you realize, and that you will get through whatever it is your going through at that time. Sometimes we need to be reminded that we, “Can do it!”

I am thankful to the Angels who send us subtle messages in a kind beautiful way like pretty colored feathers. I think your Angels have a neat system of gently reminding you that they are close by, and watching over you!!! I am glad you are paying attention, and not brushing off the signs.
